One of the most controversial aspects of YS Jagan’s tenure was the excessive delegation of power to his trusted associates, who seemingly ran the show in Andhra Pradesh’s power corridors. This is clearly evident from the fact that a couple of key men close to Jagan are still receiving top priority in the YCP ecosystem, even today.

It is known that two of Jagan’s closest aides, Dhananjaya Reddy and Krishnamohan Reddy, were arrested in connection with the AP liquor scam. Authorities established that they played a significant role in the illegal operation, leading to their arrest.

Despite the seriousness of the charges, these two continue to hold considerable influence within YCP circles. This became clear when several prominent YCP leaders—including Vidadala Rajini, Lella Appireddy, Vellampalli Srinivas, and others—visited them.

Reportedly, the ACB court hall was packed with YCP leaders who showed up to meet the arrested duo, a scene that raised eyebrows.

It is well established that both Dhananjaya and Krishnamohan enjoyed substantial power during Jagan’s time as Chief Minister. But their continued importance within YCP, even after the party’s fall from power, highlights just how integral they were to the previous administration.

This episode also sheds light on how low-profile but powerful individuals ran the administration under Jagan, revealing the kind of grip they continue to have on the party’s internal affairs.
