From being a strong socialist years ago, Pawan Kalyan has now become a stoic and unapologetic follower of Sanathana Dharma. In fact, he even undertook a Sanathana Dharma tour across South India to promote his beliefs.
This shift from his earlier self to his current Sanathana Dharma image has raised several questions about his consistency and intent. Pawan Kalyan recently addressed these concerns in a new interview.
While speaking with a Tamil media outlet, Pawan opened up about his changing perspective and values.
“It’s not like I suddenly became a different person. My support for Sanathana Dharma comes from years of frustration and suppressed energy. People casually comment on Hindu gods and our Dharma, and I just couldn’t accept that. I voiced the feelings of the Hindu community. We simply don’t want anyone to disrespect our belief system,” Kalyan explained.
Regarding the ideological shift, he clarified that it wasn’t a sudden change. “This didn’t happen overnight. It was a gradual learning curve. I was taken aback by the negative narratives around Sanathana Dharma and Hindu culture. I felt the need to stand up for my beliefs, and that’s exactly what I did.”
Kalyan also emphasized that this has nothing to do with the BJP or RSS. “This is entirely my personal view. I did what I felt was right,” he said. He acknowledged that people will always have different opinions and will criticize him no matter what. The same is happening now with his transition to a Sanathani identity.
Pawan came across as mature and composed in his response to this sensitive topic, and his remarks seem to have finally brought some clarity to the ongoing debate.
