Veteran Andhra Pradesh political observer Undavalli Arun Kumar is one of the seasoned senior personalities in the Telugu state politics scenario. However, the issue is that he is largely fluctuates with his political stances and ideologies, so there is no consistent pattern in his arguments. While he is silent on many issues during Jagan’s 5 year rule, the pressmeet of his is only to target the present NDA government.

In this context, Arun Kumar is back in the news again as he has gone all out for former AP DGP PSR Anjaneyulu who was arrested in the case related to the harassment of actress Kadambari. He faulted the Chandrababu Naidu government for arresting a DGP rank officer.

Undavalli pointed out that the Babu government is at fault for arresting a DGP rank officer who is the top whip of the police system. Undavalli had event met the former DGP in jail and added “Anjaneyulu said he is ready to spend more time in jail” he stated.

However, the fundamental fact stated by Undavalli on this matter about faulting the CM for getting the DGP arrested lacks any sort of factual justification. It can be primarily noted that there have been several such cases in the past as well.

Former Mumbai police chief Sanjay Pandey(DGP) was arrested in NSE 2022 case. On the other hand, former Punjab Director General of Police S S Virk, who was removed from the post for holding disproportionate assets. Former DGP of Rajasthan, Navdeep Singh was also arrested for interfering with JDA activities.

There is a strong legal and factual precedent about the former top cops of leading states also facing charges and arrests for illegal activities. The same can be argued to be the case with former AP DGP PSR Anjaneyulu as well.
