Revanth Reddy has successfully cleared another challenge as Congress secured the Jubilee Hills Assembly seat in the by election. Congress candidate Naveen Yadav defeated his BRS opponent by a margin of nearly twenty five thousand votes, which is a very strong victory.
Looking at the key deciding factor in the Jubilee Hills result, it appears that the TDP loyalist vote bank clearly moved toward Revanth Reddy.
There are a few reasons behind this shift. Naveen Yadav’s father, Srisailam Yadav, was an important TDP leader in the past. He still maintains good relations with senior TDP leaders in Hyderabad, and this connection might have helped his son receive the loyal support.
Even late MLA Maganti Gopinath was a strong TDP leader. His presence played a major role in the party’s wins in the 2019 and 2023 elections in Jubilee Hills. With his absence now, that loyal vote bank may have returned to its original base and this ultimately helped Congress.
Revanth Reddy also managed to appeal directly to the TDP supporters. He announced plans for an NTR statue in Ameerpet and even held a meeting with the TDP community in Hyderabad. His strong background in TDP further strengthened this support, and this became clear in the final result.
BRS hoped that TDP voters would support them. KTR himself expressed confidence that the yellow brigade would appreciate the development in Hyderabad and support BRS. But the ground reality turned out to be different, as the TDP cadre and the wider TDP ecosystem appeared to back Congress almost completely.
