Over the last few weeks, the bilateral relationship between India and the United States of America has been plummeting. This is primarily due to the fact that the United States president Donald Trump is against the proposition of India importing oil from Russia.

But considering that India is not backing down, despite the pressure from America, president, Trump has been cracking down with tariffs. He even ridiculed the new bonding exercise between India, China, and Russia.

However, out of the blue today, the President of the United States Donald Trump came up with an appreciative statement on the Indian Prime Minister while addressing the media at the White House.

Trump said he is always very good friend with Modi and appreciated him as a very good Prime Minister. “I will always be friends with Modi, he is a great Prime Minister. India and the United States have a special relationship. There is nothing to worry about”

When asked if he gets along well with Prime Minister Modi, Trump said “I get along very well with  Modi as you know, he was here a couple of months ago, we went to the Rose Garden”.

This statement from Donald Trump was reciprocated by the Indian Prime Minister, who shared that he has as much respect for the US president.

“Deeply appreciate and fully reciprocate President Trump’s sentiments and positive assessment of our ties.

India and the US have a very positive and forward-looking Comprehensive and Global Strategic Partnership.” Modi replied to the earlier statement from Trump from the White House.

After a series of tense passages, where both the countries were indulging in a tariff war, this new camaraderie is good to observe. At the end of the day, the United States will always be the primary trading partner for India in multiple markets.
