Former Andhra Pradesh CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is facing unexpected heat — not from the ruling government, but from his own mother, Y.S. Vijayamma. A heated legal battle is currently underway in the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) between Jagan and Vijayamma over a share transfer issue related to Saraswati Power and Industries.

On Wednesday, both sides argued their points before the tribunal. Vijayamma’s lawyer, Vivek Reddy, presented a sharp and emotional argument that caught everyone’s attention. Referring to Jagan’s earlier claim that his affection for his sister Y.S. Sharmila had faded, the lawyer questioned, “Even if love for a sister has reduced, what wrong did the mother do?” This emotional angle appeared to strike a chord.

Originally, the shares in Saraswati Power were gifted by Jagan to his mother Vijayamma and sister Sharmila. However, after Sharmila joined the Congress party and took a stand against Jagan, he filed a petition to cancel the gift deed, claiming the shares were wrongly transferred.

Vijayamma’s side maintained that there was no legal basis to cancel the gift deed, especially since the physical documents related to the shares had already been transferred. Jagan’s lawyer argued that the transfer was not complete, and questioned how shares could be passed to Sharmila when the gift process was still pending.

Interestingly, YCP MP Niranjan Reddy appeared in court on Jagan’s behalf, while the entire proceeding saw both legal teams presenting detailed arguments. The tribunal listened carefully and even asked several clarifying questions.

Though the final verdict is expected on the 30th of this month, many observers believe that Vijayamma’s lawyer made a stronger case. His emotional and logical points might influence the outcome in her favor — a potential blow for Jagan, especially given their close family ties.
