One of the infamous expenditures made by the previous Jagan government is the RushiKonda Palace, which has become an absolute dead rubber for Andhra Pradesh finances. The new government is unable to figure out a way to use this palace while the monthly expenditures, including electricity, cleaning and maintenance are costing big money.

In this context, deputy chief minister, Pawan Kalyan arrived at the Rushikonda Palace earlier in the day today along with his MLAs and MPs, including ministers Nadendla Manohar and Kandula Durgesh.

This is not the first time that Kalyan is visiting this Palace, but the interesting thing here is that it has been a while since he toured the same.

While speaking with his party representatives at the palace, Kalyan pointed out that the previous government wasted the Rushikonda area, which was generating seven crore rupees annually and built a palace here and the electricity bills alone are rounding up to Rs 1 crore.

While the government has been scratching their heads on how to utilise this lavish Palace that was built with costly expenditure, the dead investment is now incurring additional costs everyday. The latest visit of the deputy CM is also to find out if there is any logical way to use this luxurious Palace.
