After weeks behind bars, former Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi is expected to walk free soon, but his return may come with a political twist. Strong buzz in political circles suggests that Vamsi is preparing to resign from the YSR Congress Party and possibly step away from politics altogether.

Vamsi, a key figure in Krishna district politics, has been embroiled in multiple legal cases, including allegations of distributing fake housing documents. While he had secured bail in several of them, the final pending case delayed his release. With bail now granted in that case too, his release from Vijayawada jail is likely by Wednesday evening.

However, it’s not just the legal relief that has people talking. Sources close to Vamsi claim that his time in jail and the ongoing political pressures have pushed him toward a major decision, quitting the YSRCP and potentially retiring from public life. His family’s silence on the matter is only adding fuel to the speculation.

Reports indicate that YSRCP leadership tried to reach out through his wife, but her apparent disinterest has been read as a sign that the family is no longer aligned with the party. Personal health concerns and family priorities are also said to be influencing Vamsi’s thinking.

If these reports hold true, it would mark a significant exit from the party at a time when the YSRCP is already facing internal churn after its election loss.

Whether it’s just a break from politics or a permanent goodbye, only time will decide.
