A day after successfully mediating the India-Pakistan de-escalation, US President Donald Trump has now given brownie points to both the warring neighbouring nations. He took to his social media page and said he’s “very proud of India and Pakistan.”
“I am very proud of the strong and unwaveringly powerful leadership of India and Pakistan for having the strength, wisdom, and fortitude to fully know and understand that it was time to stop the current aggression that could have lead to to the death and destruction of so many, and so much,” Trump posted.
He went on to say that millions of good and innocent people could have died (if the war continued). “Your legacy is greatly enhanced by your brave actions. I am proud that the USA was able to help you arrive at this historic and heroic decision,” he added.
Trump then offered parleys to both India and Pakistan for respecting America’s peace initiatives. “While not even discussed, I am going to increase trade, substantially, with both of these great nations,” Trump said. Trump’s move gains significance, especially when the entire world is reeling under Trump’s tariff and heavy taxation. Following the heavy losses both India and Pakistan suffered due to the recent war-like situation, this announcement by Trump comes across as a huge sigh of relief.
Trump went on to vow that he will also work with India and Pakistan to see if, after a “thousand years, a solution can be arrived at regarding the Kashmir dispute. “God Bless the leadership of India and Pakistan on a job well done,” Trump concluded his post.
