The Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, recently visited Prayagraj to take part in the Maha Kumbh Mela. During his visit, he took an auspicious dip in the sacred Ganga River. However, this incident became an ugly topic of discussion on social media.
Kalyan rightly removed his shirt while taking a dip in the Ganga, following tradition. However, these pictures somehow led to a negative narrative on Twitter. Certain political groups began commenting on Kalyan’s fitness and resorted to body shaming him.
These images were shared in a completely negative light, with the clear intention of body-shaming Kalyan. Several vulgar comments were made about the fitness and physique of the Deputy CM. Some miscreants even went a step further by morphing these pictures to humiliate him.
However, this social media narrative is now nearing its end, as the Andhra Pradesh Police are close to initiating action against these offensive posts.
Janasena supporters from Chittoor, Nellore, Bapatla, and Vijayawada have approached local police, seeking action against the culprits. They have submitted evidence of the morphed pictures of Pawan Kalyan and requested appropriate legal action.
Given that the issue involves the Deputy Chief Minister himself, the Andhra Pradesh Police are expected to take strict action against those responsible for this gross social media attack.
It is important to note that both Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan have already issued warnings against social media abuse and misuse. In the past, several YSRCP supporters were jailed and penalized for similar offenses.
Despite these warnings, the issue resurfaced a few days ago when Kalyan participated in the Maha Kumbh Mela. Now, with the Andhra Pradesh Police stepping in once again, it remains to be seen what disciplinary measures will be taken against those who shared these morphed images of Kalyan.
