The Telugu film industry bigwigs, including several senior heroes and producers, were supposed to meet with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan in Amaravati today (June 15). However, the latest we hear is that the proposed meeting has been postponed indefinitely.
Apparently, several top stars, including Megastar Chiranjeevi, have expressed their unavailability due to outdoor shootings, prompting the authorities to postpone the meeting until a later date. The meeting was planned following actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan’s fiery “return gift” comments on the producers and exhibitors who allegedly orchestrated a theater closure ahead of Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu’s release.
In his open letter to the Telugu film industry, Pawan Kalyan had said that no celebrity from the film industry has so far met with Andhra Pradesh CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu as a courtesy ever since he returned to power in June last year. Expressing his displeasure, Pawan had said that there will no longer be individual meetings with the government authorities henceforth and that all such meetings should be through the Film Chamber.
In the proposed meeting, which now stands postponed, the CM, Deputy CM, and the Telugu film producers and actors were supposed to discuss the ticket price issue and other major concerns that have been plaguing the film industry.
