Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu has completed 30 years since he first took charge as the chief minister of erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh back in September 1995. Through the course of this last three decades, Chandrababu has been an inspiration for many politicians and common folk alike.

Incidentally, it is worth to note that Chandrababu had an inspired a class political film in the past and here’s a look into this side of the story.

Back in 1997, chief Minister, Chandrababu had introduced a new revolutionary program with the name “Prajalatho Mukhyamanthri”. The purpose of this program is to directly interact with the common public through the Doordarshan TV channel and get to know about their problems.

This was an iconic program back in the day when accessing the chief minister was a tough task for the common public. Chandrababu made it happen in the most innovative manner, and it was a tremendous success then.

Reportedly this political episode in Chandrababu’s life clearly inspired Maverick Director Shankar to base his film, Oke Okkadu on Chandrababu’s political philosophy.

This program was famously branded as “dial your CM” and was a smashing success. This very same concept was used in the film Oke Okkadu which is still a classic political film even to this day. While Shankar directed this film, Arjun Sarja played the role of the chief minister to a great degree of authenticity.
