After the onset of the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh, deputy chief minister, Pawan Kalyan has been taking a strong and progressive stand in support of the Hindi language. He has been repeatedly advocating the importance of Hindi language to bring India together as a country.

In this context, Kalyan delivered a speech today, where he endorsed the Hindi language and asked for increased penetration of this “Rajya Bhaasha”(more or less the national language).

Kalyan pointed out that showing any sort of reluctance to learn Hindi is pure ignorance and incompetence. He said people have generally accepted Urdu as established language, but have a problem whenever the topic is about Hindi.

“There is absolutely no problem or apprehension in learning Hindi as a language. It is just another language that will serve us as a medium to empower our careers. Telugu must be treated like our mother tongue while Hindi will operate as a medium that brings the country together” Kalyan said. “Telugu bhaasha Amma aithe, Hindi bhaasha Peddamma lantidi” Kalyan said in Telugu.

The deputy chief minister further pointed out that several Telugu and also other South Indian films are being dubbed and released in Hindi where they are generating substantial revenue. “We want our films to do well in Hindi and make money from them, but we do not want to learn Hindi language. What kind of pathetic attitude is that” Kalyan expressed his discontentment.
