Peddireddy Midhun Reddy, a close aide of former chief minister YS Jagan and a sitting MP, is one of the most influential leaders in the YSR Congress Party. However, he is now facing serious trouble for his alleged involvement in the infamous Andhra Pradesh liquor scam that took place during Jagan’s regime.
After failing to secure anticipatory bail in the High Court, Midhun Reddy approached the Supreme Court seeking relief. But the Supreme Court has also rejected his anticipatory bail petition.
Today, the Apex Court dismissed his plea and even denied his request for more time to surrender to the police. This leaves him with no legal protection at the moment.
The CID has already issued a lookout notice to prevent him from fleeing abroad. A special team has been assigned to trace his location, as he is reportedly absconding.
Midhun Reddy is currently unreachable, and the CID is actively tracking his movements. It may only be a matter of time before the authorities catch him and begin formal investigation in the liquor scam.
Given his high influence in YCP, Midhun Reddy’s arrest could lead to several new revelations and names surfacing in this scandal.
