It appears that the stage is set for the political debut of another member from the YS family, apart from the already active YS Jagan and Sharmila. The new entrant is none other than Sharmila’s son, YS Raja Reddy.
As reported earlier, Raja Reddy recently visited the Kurnool onion market along with his mother Sharmila, which led to speculation about his possible debut in politics.
When asked to comment on this matter, Sharmila was quick to respond, and here is what she said:
“When the need arises, YS Raja Reddy will definitely enter Andhra Pradesh politics,” Sharmila stated while addressing a public gathering in Kurnool today.
“రాజారెడ్డి అవసరమన్నప్పుడు ఆంధ్రరాష్ట్ర రాజకీయాల్లోకి తప్పకుండా వస్తాడు.”– #YsSharmila pic.twitter.com/XX0d3frLCS— FilmShlim (@FilmShlimOfficial) September 8, 2025
This public statement from Sharmila can be seen as a clear indication that the stage is being prepared for her son Raja Reddy’s political debut sooner rather than later. Much like his mother, the younger Reddy is expected to be active in the Andhra Pradesh Congress.
Raja Reddy, who studied abroad, was earlier believed to be staying away from state politics and maintaining a private life. But with these latest developments and his active participation in political events, it now appears that he too has his eyes set on a political future, remarked a neutral observer.
