The 2026 Tamil Nadu elections are poised to play a significant role in shaping the course of national politics. This is one of the key reasons why the BJP is heavily invested in the upcoming Tamil Nadu assembly elections.
In fact, Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah is reportedly overseeing the party’s activities in Tamil Nadu, and he recently interacted with a regional media house, sharing a few interesting insights.
Amit Shah sounded extremely confident that the BJP will be an integral part of the NDA alliance that comes to power in Tamil Nadu in 2026. He categorically stated that a member of the AIADMK party will become the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
Interestingly, he did not explicitly name the current AIADMK chief, Edappadi K. Palaniswami, as the CM candidate instead, he kept the options open, leaving room for speculation.
The most intriguing moment came when Shah was asked about Thalapathy Vijay and the possibility of his party, TVK, joining the NDA alliance. Shah gave a cryptic and vague response, avoiding any direct reference to the alliance prospects.
“There is still time to go for the election,” Shah said a comment many interpreted as keeping the doors open for a potential alliance with Vijay’s TVK.
This ambiguous remark from Amit Shah has sparked fresh political speculation in Tamil Nadu, with widespread discussions around whether TVK could align with NDA ahead of the 2026 polls.
