The second day of the monsoon assembly sessions in Andhra Pradesh progressed on an informative note with meaningful conversations between ruling leaders. One notable exchange took place between deputy speaker Raghurama Krishna Raju and deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan.

During the discussion hour in the assembly, RRR offered progressive advice to the deputy chief minister regarding the restriction of single-use plastic in the state.

He pointed out that the Kerala government had recently introduced a program where they charge ₹10 extra for a plastic liquor bottle and refund the same amount when the bottle is returned. This initiative significantly boosted plastic bottle recycling, thereby helping the environment.

RRR further suggested that Kalyan initiate ad campaigns against plastic usage, stressing the positive impact such awareness could create. “Previously, when you called for road repairs, Janasainiks came out in large numbers. Now, we must have digital ads against plastic usage. When heroes like you endorse such causes, crores of rupees are spent on ads. So I request you, as the concerned minister, to roll out campaigns that can truly help this cause,” RRR said.

Responding positively, Kalyan acknowledged the suggestion and assured that he would explore effective ways to restrict plastic usage. “Certain industries and companies are involved in this, and any sudden decision could affect many families. So every step must be calculated. I will definitely look into launching digital ad campaigns to educate people about single-use plastic,” he noted.

This exchange highlighted an important environmental discussion between Kalyan and RRR in the Assembly today.
