Actor and Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan’s love for animals needs no introduction. In the past, pictures and videos of Pawan feeding cows and other domestic animals at his farmhouse on the outskirts of Hyderabad have gone viral on the internet.

Now, the Deputy CM’s touching gesture for animals in AP villages is winning hearts once again. With soaring temperatures across the state, cattle and other domestic animals have been facing severe hardships due to water scarcity and drought in many villages. Noticing the plight of these innocent creatures, Panchayati Raj Commissioner Krishna Teja came up with a noble idea and promptly shared it with AP Panchayati Raj Minister Pawan Kalyan.

Commissioner Krishna Teja proposed building large water bowls to quench the thirst of animals in AP villages. Being an animal lover himself, Pawan Kalyan appreciated the Commissioner’s proposal and immediately sanctioned ₹67.50 crore to construct 15,000 water bowls—each costing ₹45,000—under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, to be installed across various villages in the state. Two types of giant water bowls, with 3,500-liter and 2,300-liter capacities, will be regularly filled with water not only during summer but throughout the year. Impressively, the construction of these chalivendrams was completed within just 25 days of the project’s inception.

Pictures showing lakhs of cows, buffaloes, sheep, goats, and other domestic animals drinking water from these bowls and seemingly blessing Pawan Kalyan have gone viral on social media. Fans, farmers, and even some opposition sympathizers are praising him, calling Pawan Kalyan the only politician who takes such thoughtful and compassionate decisions for animal welfare.
