Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan held a video conference with senior officials from Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, and Rural Water Supply departments to review post-cyclone measures across Andhra Pradesh. Speaking from the Mangalagiri camp office, he emphasized that though the Montha cyclone was effectively handled, the next few days are crucial for maintaining sanitation, clean drinking water, and restoring damaged infrastructure.

Pawan instructed officials to immediately launch “Super Chlorination” and “Super Sanitation” programs in all cyclone-affected villages. He directed the formation of mobile sanitation teams and ordered that all 21,000 sanitation workers be mobilized to prevent health issues and mosquito-borne diseases.

Officials informed that 1,583 villages were severely affected, with 38 roads badly damaged and 125 others partially affected. Pawan urged the departments to prioritize road repairs and ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply by arranging alternative sources wherever needed.

He also asked health and rural teams to coordinate closely to prevent the spread of diseases and restore normalcy at the earliest. Emphasizing accountability, he said there should be no delays or communication gaps among departments.

The review meeting was attended by senior officials including Shashi Bhushan Kumar (Special Chief Secretary, Panchayat Raj), and Commissioner Krishna Teja, who shared updates on damage assessment and recovery plans.
