The Andhra Pradesh budget assembly sessions are officially underway, with Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav presenting the budget in the assembly. This is the first full-term budget presented by the NDA government, and there is much anticipation surrounding it.
As expected, the finance minister announced a significant financial allocation for the Thalliki Vandanam scheme, which was introduced by Chandrababu during the polls.
The government has allocated ₹9,407 crore for the Thalliki Vandanam scheme, as communicated officially by Finance Minister Keshav just a few minutes ago. This is set to be one of the costliest and most far-reaching programs by the NDA government.
Households with students from Class 1 to 12 will be eligible for this program, which will officially come into effect in the academic year 2025-26.
As part of this program, the mother of each school or college-going student will receive ₹15,000 per student in the household. This is expected to be one of the hallmark implementations of the NDA government.
