Tech billionaire Elon Musk quit DOGE under Trump’s administration, nearly a month ago, which made the differences between the duo public. In the next few days, there were attempts to iron out the differences and go for a patch-up but all the efforts seem to be futile.
US President Donald Trump, on Monday night, fumed at Musk and warned him of cutting down on all the subsidies his firms were enjoying in America. Without the American government’s subsidies, the Tesla CEO would “probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa.”
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said: “Elon Musk knew, long before he so strongly Endorsed me for President, that I was strongly against EV Mandate. It is ridiculous, and was always a major part of my campaign. Electric cars are fine, but not everyone should be forced to own one. Elon may get more subsidy than any human being in history, by far and without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa. No more Rocket launches, Satellites, or Electric Car Production, and our Country would save a FORTUNE. Perhaps we should have DOGE take a good, hard, look at this? BIG MONEY TO BE SAVED!!!”
This comes after Musk vehemently criticized the “big, beautiful bill” and called it “political suicide for the Republican Party.”
Musk launched a blistering attack on Trump’s Bill and threatened to form a new “America Party” if the controversial bills is cleared by the Senate.
On X, Musk posted: “It is obvious with the insane spending of this bill, which increases the debt ceiling by a record FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS that we live in a one-party country — the PORKY PIG PARTY!! Time for a new political party that actually cares about the people.”
Once a close ally of Trump, Elon is now at loggerheads with the US President.
