Giving relief to the multiplexes in the state, the High Court of Telangana modified the order passed on January 21. It has now allowed children below 16 for all regular shows in multiplexes. In its earlier order, the High Court asked the theatres and multiplexes not to allow children below 16 years to shows between 11 pm to 11 am.
Citing financial losses, the multiplex association challenged this order. Upon hearing the arguments, the court modified its order against not allowing kids. However, the court denied permission for benefit, special and premier shows in the state. The court postponed the next hearing to March 17.
After the unfortunate stampede happened during Pushpa 2’s premier show, the government of Telangana announced a ban on benefit shows as well as ticket hikes in the state. However, it gave permission for the hike of ticket prices for Game Changer. Challenging this decision, a petition was filed at the Telangana High Court.
Upon hearing arguments from both sides, the High Court banned movie shows between 1.30 am to 8.40 am. Also, the magistrate opined that it is not right to loot huge amounts from the public by hiking ticket prices heavily.
