Andhra Pradesh under NDA government led by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is turning out to be a shining example for the entire country on how to leverage technology and effectively use it to help the citizens. The state has already been using technology for real-time governance and various citizen welfare programs. Meanwhile, IT and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh is sparing no effort to realise the ambitious promise of creating 20 Lakh jobs to youths by 2029.

The government has recently announced the launch of a skill development portal ‘Naipunyam’ which facilitates employment opportunities to youth by integrating multiple central, state and institutional databases to create a unified interface for skill development. The AI powered portal enables candidates to create resumes, register for skill courses, take real-time skill assessments and also access the latest job opportunities.

Nara Lokesh also announced that the portal will feature first-of-its-kind AI based interviews for candidates to practice mock interviews and receive feedback before the actual recruitment process. Skills required for professionals ranging from AC Mechanics to Quantum Scientists will be interviewed through this initiative.

Lokesh stated that the platform will help the job seekers to prepare themselves towards securing employment in different streams by upgrading their skill set based on the requirements. He stressed that no where in the country has implemented such an initiative so far and announced that the portal will be launched during the CII Partnership Summit in Vishakhapatnam.

Last week, Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the portal at state secretariat and directed officials to build a comprehensive and futuristic framework for skilling youth through this initiative. He also emphasized the need to provide upskilling and reskilling opportunities to meet the evolving industry trends.
