While all eyes focused on Vizag which had been declared to be transformed into the executive capital of Andhra Pradesh during the YCP rule, the TDP-led government has announced that Rayalaseema would be transformed into a hi-tech industrial hub, to ensure comprehensive development of the state.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said that the government was determined to bring about a change in the life of the people in the backward region. Naidu said that Kadapa, Tirupati, Puttaparthi and Orvakal in Rayalaseema region, already have airports and 2-3 more will be established in other areas in the near future.
Construction of the long-pending Kadapa steel plant will begin soon which would develop the business ecosystem and also generate employment in the area. It will also boost the economy. In additon, an industrial township will be established at Kopparthi and a Drone City at Orvakal. Lepakshi Hub will be established to promote handicrafts. The government will also educate the artisans and craftspeople with the required strategies to market their products for more income and penetration in the market, he said.
The establishment of SHAR near Nellore will help in planning a Space City in the region. Steps will be taken to establish it and make the best use of it for the development of the state. In addition, all measures would be taken for the development of automobile sector in Rayalaseema. In the wake of the availability of limited water sources in the region, other sectors could be developed in those areas. The Rayalaseema region would be transformed into a green energy hub by setting up power plants based on renewable energy sources, the CM added.
