Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy has been taking a strong statesmanship stand when it comes to the interests of Telangana. In fact, his determination for the state is far superior to the admiration he shares for his political guru, Chandrababu Naidu.
In an interaction with a national media channel, Revanth Reddy was asked about the prospects of neighbouring CM Chandrababu and the AP capital Amaravati. Reddy did not mince his words as he gave a very strong statement.
“I firmly believe and know that my age is my asset. For me, Hyderabad is an asset, while for neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, their capital Amaravati is a liability. Even in terms of age, I am at an optimal position, while Chandrababu is too senior,” Revanth Reddy said when asked to compare himself with Babu.
Then there was a question about Lokesh, who is quickly progressing through the ranks and is seen as the next big thing.
Reddy replied, “Lokesh is too young. He is a junior in development.”
Then came the usual admiration statement on Chandrababu, as Revanth quickly added that he rates Babu very highly as an individual and has great personal affiliation towards him.
“I have great respect and admiration for Chandrababu. But I know where to draw the line, politically and personally. When the choice is between Chandrababu and Telangana, I will always choose Telangana.”
