Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Nara Lokesh received a pleasant surprise they did not expect. The International Yoga Day celebrations held on June 21 at RK Beach in Visakhapatnam, which they led with pride, have now earned unexpected national recognition.

The grand event saw over 3.1 lakh participants and was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who also performed yoga along with the crowd. Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan and other ministers from the state also took part in the celebrations. The month-long Yoga Andhra campaign earned wide appreciation, and two Guinness World Records were achieved for participation and coordination. At that point, many thought the success story had come to an end.

However, four days later, another recognition came in, this time, in the form of a special mention by PM Modi himself during a Union Cabinet meeting on Wednesday. Modi reportedly discussed the success of Yoga Andhra and praised the efforts of Chandrababu and Lokesh.

He reportedly said, “What Andhra Pradesh did with Yoga Day is truly remarkable. Other states should learn from them. I’ve asked the AP government to submit a detailed report on how they managed such a large-scale event. Once we get it, we will share it with all other states across the country. This should be treated as a case study.”

Adding more weight to his words, Modi also said that he would speak about Yoga Andhra in his upcoming ‘Mann Ki Baat’ radio address, which is broadcast nationwide. TDP leaders were thrilled with this recognition, calling Modi’s words an official certificate of excellence for Andhra Pradesh.

CM Chandrababu and Minister Lokesh, who came to know about the PM’s remarks later that night, expressed their gratitude and said they were honored by the Prime Minister’s appreciation.
