In a move that once again highlights Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s growing attention towards Andhra Pradesh, the Centre has sanctioned a major infrastructure project connecting Badvel and Nellore. The road, which will now be upgraded into a 4-lane national highway, was officially approved during the other day’s Union Cabinet meeting chaired by PM Modi himself.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw formally announced the decision, which was soon echoed by the Prime Minister on his social media handles. Interestingly, Modi went a step further this time, he posted about the approval in both English and Telugu, sending a powerful message of connection with the people of Andhra Pradesh.

The 4-lane highway is expected to significantly ease transport between the interior regions and the Krishnapatnam Port, reducing the distance by approximately 33.9 kilometers. This boost in connectivity is likely to accelerate trade and development across the region.

CM Chandrababu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan was quick to react to the development. Overjoyed by the announcement, Pawan took to social media to thank both Prime Minister Modi and Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari. In his post, Pawan Kalyan emphasized that the new road would play a crucial role in Andhra Pradesh’s growth and improve logistics in the region.

This is not the first time PM Modi has shown a proactive stance towards Andhra Pradesh. Since taking office for a third term, he has been consistently highlighting AP’s development and providing central assistance. From securing international loans for the Amaravati capital development to encouraging public sector investments in the state, Modi’s administration appears keen on supporting AP’s progress.

With AP MPs giving life support to NDA in Delhi, Modi’s special care to Andhra is being widely appreciated. His repeated gestures are now being seen as “return gifts” to the state. It’s a Win Win situation for AP & Centre.

With central funds flowing in and major infrastructure projects gaining approval, Andhra Pradesh is seeing a new wave of attention from Delhi. If this pace continues, the state could soon emerge as a major development hub in South India.
