YSR Congress MP Mithun Reddy was arrested in connection with the Andhra Pradesh liquor scam back in July and he has been held at the Rajahmundry Central prison since then. The court turned down several bail attempts by Reddy on legal grounds.
However, the latest developments are suggesting that Midhun Reddy has finally managed to secure bail at the Vijayawada ACB court.
Madhu Reddy was granted a conditional bail by the Vijayawada ACB court, and there are several restrictions that are in place even in this by order.
The bail has been granted on political grounds as Midhun Reddy will have to be taking part in the upcoming vice president election and cast his vote there. The court accepted his bail request as he is a sitting MP and has the leverage to cast his vote in the VP elections.
While the chances are that Midhun Reddy could be released from the Rajahmundry jail this evening, he must be reporting back on September 11 by 5 PM. And additionally, to that Midhun Reddy will also have to provide surety of ₹50,000 and validators signatures of two individuals.
This bill will be valid for only five days as the YSR Congress MP will have to get back to jail by September 11. This is only temporary relief for him in what appears to be a deeply rooted Andhra Pradesh liquor scam case.
