The inevitable has happened as the NDA alliance has comfortably won the vice president election that was held at the parliament today. The candidate that was supported by the NDA alliance CP Radhakrishnan has comfortably won the election.
Strongly rooted in the famous RSS ecosystem and the BJP, Chandrapuram Ponnusamy Radhakrishnan was elected as the 15th Vice President of India, the third leader from Tamil Nadu to occupy the coveted post.
Previously serving as the governor of Maharashtra, C P Radhakrishnan will be the new Vice-President of India. He defeated the INDIA bloc candidate and former Supreme Court Judge Sudershan Reddy by a margin of 152 votes in the secret ballot poll that was held today.
The numbers pertaining to the election are as follows. Total votes for the Vice President elections – 781 electors out of which 767 cast votes and 15 turned out to be invalid votes. In terms of differential numbers, 452 voted for NDA candidate while 300 voted for INDIA candidate.
