The Telugu Desam party completed the first day of one of its historical Mahanadu events last evening. The opening day of this three-day mega political event had chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, IT Minister Nara Lokesh, TDP President Palla Srinivasa Rao and several others in attendance.
The first day of the event was primarily allocated for the establishment of the prime agendas of the party. Lokesh addressed the crowds in this regard and said TDP is fully committed to the six core principles that were publicized during the electoral campaign.
Then came the gratitude statement from chief minister, Chandrababu Naidu, who thanked the TDP supporters for donating in the vicinity of Rs 22 crore to the party. He thanked all of them for their continued support and confirmed this money would be used for the betterment of the livelihood of the TDP cadres. He remembered the sacrifice of Thota Chandraiah for the party.
Chief minister Babu then confirmed that the Polavaram project would be completed in this ongoing TDP regime. He further added that he proposed to the central government to eradicate the big currency notes culture in the country. He proposed to stop the usage of Rs 500 notes as well.
Then came a revolutionary speech from a youngster who took the stage. He spoke very well against the drug usage that was rampant during the previous administration. He said the properties belonging to such drug peddlers must be taken ahold by the government and must be converted to drug rehabilitation facilities. This was received very well.
As a whole, the first day of the Mahanadu event was very informative and narrative-setting driven. It has to be seen what the second day has in store for us now.
