It is already known that the government of Andhra Pradesh has taken a pretty strong stand against abuses and slurs against women. Any sort of abusive posts on women on social media are leading to quick reprimands and arrests.
This protocol about female empowerment was again established by IT Minister Nara Lokesh as he had an honest request to chief minister Chandrababu and deputy CM Pawan Kalyan.
“I am sincerely, requesting the chief minister and deputy CM to seriously consider the proposal of banning films that come with abusive and regressive comments against women. If there is any particular dialogue or a scene in a film, that hurts the sentiments of women, then the film must not be played in theatres till this content is removed.” Lokesh said.
Lokesh has a fundamentally strong point here as we have historically seen films crossing the line when it comes to abuses against women. There are several scenes and dialogues that are seriously regressive against the female population.
There must be some sort of control and censoring on this content which could potentially influence the public and that’s exactly what Lokesh explained. It has to be seen if the government leadership would take this earnest request seriously and act correspondingly.
