If we observe the political trends in Andhra Pradesh, it can easily be understood that Jagan likes two things more than anything. One is people praising Jagan himself to the sky, and the other is when people abuse and verbally humiliate Chandrababu and his family. This is the assessment that has been made by neutral observers on Jagan.

This is again being established with the latest development regarding one of the most controversial YCP leaders in recent years — Duvvada Srinivas.

This former MLA from Tekkali has done all kinds of theatrics and created controversies over the last year or so. He left his family to stay with his “friend” Madhavi, and in the process, abused and even assaulted his wife and daughter. He created all sorts of chaos with Madhavi in interviews. She even spoke ugly politics in Tirumala and faced huge backlash.

However, no disciplinary action was taken against him despite all these theatrics. One plausible reason behind this is that Duvvada was in the good books of Jagan and used to praise him regularly. However, this quickly changed after Duvvada made one public statement, which perhaps had something to do with Lokesh Nara.

In a recent interview, Duvvada was asked who is the sweetest person after Nandamuri Balakrishna, and he swiftly replied, “Nara Lokesh.” He further added that Lokesh could make for a great Chief Minister and that he would develop Andhra Pradesh very well.

This very statement appears to have triggered Jagan and instigated disciplinary action against Duvvada, which led to his suspension.

Jagan and his YCP leadership did not have any issue when the same Duvvada had a huge public controversy at a personal level and made a big scene. He was spared for all this ugly theatrics. But the very moment he spoke about Lokesh — this was where the line was drawn, and he was immediately suspended from the party.
