Telangana politics are going to heat up again as the state is preparing for the local body elections that are supposed to be held soon. The official election notification and scheduling is going to be released soon, and this has become a topic of discussion already.
However, there is this one particular Congress leader and Cabinet minister who is finding himself in a mess for exhibiting over enthusiasm with regard to local body polls.
The minister in question here is Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, who confidently announced that the local body elections will be held by the end of this month. He made this public statement while addressing a gathering in Palair and it led to several discussions.
Meanwhile, the topic has reached TPCC president, Mahesh Goud, who expressed anger on Ponguleti for his premature comment.
“The local body elections are a sensitive topic as they’re correlated with the reservations grant topic. These topics are to be discussed with the cabinet before making public announcements and creating confusion. More importantly, it is better if ministers stay within their jurisdiction and avoid speaking about other ministries.” Mahesh Goud said.
It is evident that the Congress top leadership is not happy with the public statement issued by Ponguleti regarding the local body election. Chief minister Revanth Reddy himself is puzzled about this scheduling, and at this crucial time, cabinet minister Ponguleti issuing a public statement isn’t sitting well with many.
