One of the most controversial ministers in the Telangana Congress government, Konda Surekha, is once again in the spotlight. High drama unfolded at her residence in Jubilee Hills last night, leading to police intervention and a series of sensational claims from her daughter, Sushmitha.
According to reports, police arrived at Konda Surekha’s house to take her OSD, Sumanth, into custody in connection with recent allegations against him. However, when they attempted to arrest Sumanth, they were stopped by Konda Surekha’s daughter, who strongly objected to the move.
Sushmitha reportedly confronted the police, questioned their actions, and prevented them from entering the premises. Amid the commotion, Surekha and Sumanth allegedly left the residence in a car, evading the police.
Soon after, Sushmitha made sensational allegations, claiming that the entire episode was orchestrated by the Congress leadership, including Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. She alleged that senior party leaders were targeting her parents, Konda Surekha and Konda Murali, by first trying to arrest OSD Sumanth.
She even brought up a caste angle, alleging that their family was being targeted because they belong to the BC community, while leaders like Revanth Reddy, Uttam Kumar Reddy, and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy were misusing their power.
The case against Sumanth involves an accusation that he threatened a man with a gun at the Deccan Cement Factory in Huzurnagar over a financial dispute. However, Sushmitha strongly denied these claims, calling them politically motivated.
Konda family stood together to protect their aide, while the Congress high command is reportedly furious over the incident and has called for strict action.
