Telangana CM Revanth Reddy strongly criticized former CMs KCR and Jagan Mohan Reddy, saying their close understanding in the past pushed Telangana into deep water troubles.

After returning from his Delhi tour, Revanth held a press meet in Hyderabad and addressed the issue of Krishna water sharing between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He said that if KCR had taken a strong stand earlier, Telangana would not be facing such problems now.

Revanth said that KCR and Jagan worked together secretly, but their actions only hurt Telangana. Instead of protecting the state’s rights, KCR allowed Andhra to benefit first. He accused KCR of ignoring Hyderabad’s water needs, even though the city depends on joint river projects.

Revanth reminded that KCR had once said there were no disputes and that water from Godavari could be used freely. But now, the reality is different. He said that KCR gave Andhra the upper hand by staying silent and supporting Jagan’s decisions.

Revanth asked, “Who gave KCR the right to play with the lives of Telangana people? You can be friends with Jagan, but why should Telangana suffer?”

He mentioned that Banakacharla project and other water release decisions were made in a way that helped Andhra first. Only after that would Telangana get its share, and this led to major losses.

Revanth’s press meet made it clear that his government plans to take a tougher stance in protecting Telangana’s water rights and exposing past mistakes.
