The recent terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam resurfaced the tensions between India and Pakistan. India is not holding back in any aspect after Pakistani terrorists killed more than 25 innocent tourists in Kashmir.

Even in cricket, drastic decisions may be made regarding matches between India and Pakistan. In the wake of the Kashmir attack, the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) wrote a letter to the International Cricket Council (ICC) requesting that India and Pakistan not be combined in a single group in any upcoming ICC tournament.

It has been heard that BCCI doesn’t want a faceoff with Pakistan, at least in the group stages of the ICC tournaments. The next major ICC event is the Women’s World Cup, which will be held in September with India as the host. As per the agreement, Pakistan will not be playing matches in India, and the neutral venue is yet to be decided.

Coming to the men’s cricket, the Asia Cup is scheduled to be held in September. Dubai or Sri Lanka might be made neutral venues for this tournament. On the other hand, the 2026 T20 World Cup will be hosted by India and Sri Lanka together. As of now, no decision has been taken on Pakistan’s matches, but we may see it playing its games in Sri Lanka mostly.
