The strained relationship between YS Jagan and his sister YS Sharmila has been a hot topic in Andhra Pradesh politics from past couple of years. Even Jagan in ruling or opposition Sharmila is the first one who to criticise Jagan. . Many believe that her entry into AP politics contributed to the YSR Congress Party’s defeat in the 2024 elections.
Now, an interesting situation is unfolding. On July 8, the 75th birth anniversary of their father, late YS Rajasekhar Reddy, both Jagan and Sharmila are expected to visit YSR’s memorial in Idupulapaya to pay tributes. With a large event being planned to mark the occasion, there is growing curiosity whether the YS siblings will appear on the same stage.
Will they arrive together? Will they exchange greetings? Or will they avoid each other as they have in the past?
Sources say the event may include special prayers, and there’s speculation that their mother Vijayamma might also attend. While YSRCP is planning statewide celebrations, Jagan is expected to participate in the Pulivendula event before resuming his tour in other districts the next day.
The big question remains: Will this emotional day bring the siblings together, even momentarily, or will the political divide keep them apart?
