After a shocking defeat in the 2024 elections, YSRCP is still struggling to recover. The party, which once held 151 seats, couldn’t even secure the main opposition status this time. While the rest of the leaders are trying to move on, Jagan Mohan Reddy still seems unable to come to terms with the loss. He’s mostly staying at his palace in Bengaluru and is rarely visiting Tadepalli.
Amid this silence, former minister Gudivada Amarnath made a surprising statement on Monday. Speaking at a party workers’ meeting in Visakhapatnam, he revealed that Jagan will go on a Padayatra 2.0 in 2027. He said this would be a grand-level march, just like the first one.
Trying to motivate party workers, Amarnath reminded them that five years will pass quickly. “One year is already gone, just four more to go. If we stay strong, YSRCP will come back to power,” he said. He even mentioned that Jagan himself told this to the leaders. He assured loyal party workers that this time, their hard work will not go unrecognized.
Amarnath also made a bold comment saying, “Only those who truly like the party should stay. We don’t need to beg anyone to remain.” He clearly hinted that the party is only for those who are ready to work hard.
He said the party committees will be restructured and that it will take a year. After that, large-scale party activities will begin.
Amarnath also mentioned that people are already asking when Jagan will start his next Padayatra, especially after seeing the current government’s performance over the past 11 months. He said, “People in villages are upset that they’re not getting new pensions. They say unless someone in the house dies, no new pensions are given.”
He strongly criticized Chandrababu Naidu too. “People have been cheated four times by Babu. If they fall for him again, even God can’t save them,” Amarnath said.
