June 4 is an extremely significant date in the history of Andhra Pradesh politics, as it marked the resurgence of the NDA government in the state after five years of YSRCP rule. In just a couple of days, AP will observe the first anniversary of this historic electoral mandate.
With the anniversary approaching, Pulivendula MLA Jagan Mohan Reddy is attempting to provoke and criticize the incumbent government through planned protests. He has called upon YSR Congress Party cadres to stage demonstrations on June 4.
Jagan has publicly announced his plan to observe “Vennupotu Day” on June 4, claiming it symbolizes the formation of a fraudulent government that, according to him, has failed to fulfill a single electoral promise.
On the other hand, the JanaSena Party has prepared a counterplan. Nadendla Manohar informed party workers about this during his interaction in Pithapuram yesterday. He stated that it has been a year since the NDA government came to power and described their governance as a “golden rule” for the state. He said June 4 should be celebrated with the same spirit as Sankranti and Deepavali.
While Jagan is looking to erase the bitter memory of June 4, a day that brought a historic defeat for him, the JSP is aiming to celebrate it by highlighting the achievements of the current government.
