It has been well over a decade since the CBI and ED filed disproportionate assets cases against Jagan. But there has been very little progress in connection with these cases in recent times and particularly so after Jagan became the chief minister in 2019.
In fact, it has been several years since Jagan was physically present at the CBI court for investigation as he kept citing security reasons and various other petty factors to evade court action.
But finally, after several years, Jagan is set to enter the CBI court finally and is scheduled to do the same before November 21.
Initially, when had secured the permission to fly to London last month, he agreed to appear at the CBI court before November 14. But he later changed his stance and requested an exemption, stating that he would appear virtually or have his lawyer attend the hearing.
However, the CBI took serious offence to this new petition filed by and registered counter today. After understanding the gravity of the matter and CBI’s earnest determination, Jagan has sought permission for a week and he is now scheduled to appear at the CBI court in Nampalli before November 21.
This would be the first time in recent years to witness Jagan at the Nampalli Court and this must be a reminiscent visual, remarked a local media user.
