Former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan, was known for frequently using helicopters even for short distances. This habit resulted in a large amount of public money being spent on his travel.

IT Minister Nara Lokesh revealed that Jagan had spent around ₹220 crore solely on helicopter rides during his tenure as chief minister.

Speaking to the media, Lokesh stated that the average cost of each of Jagan’s visits was nearly ₹7 crore, while in comparison, Chandrababu Naidu’s expenditure stands at just about ₹25 lakh per visit.

It was further explained that Chandrababu is expected to spend close to ₹100 crore on official trips over the next five years, whereas Jagan spent ₹220 crore on helicopters alone in the same time span. What makes it more striking is that Chandrababu has already made more public visits in the last 15 months than Jagan did in his five years as CM.

The difference lies in the approach. Chandrababu is seen as economical and efficient with his travel, while Jagan was extravagant and costly in his commute choices.

This revelation comes at a time when the YSR Congress has been spreading a false narrative claiming that Chandrababu, Lokesh, and Pawan Kalyan frequently travel to Hyderabad. In reality, it was Jagan who had incurred massive expenses on helicopter rides, while the present government is demonstrating a more practical and cost-effective approach.
