It has been nine months since the formation of the NDA government in Andhra Pradesh and the leading alliance is taking a proactive stand when it comes to public policy making. CM Babu is taking it upon himself to collect all possible feedback from the public through mass outreach programs.
So, there’s very little to no vacuum to work with for the YCP ecosystem. But as a customary and formality affair, YCP has been holding namesake protests here and there.
In one such attempt, YCP has announced another “Poru” (protest) today and the news was communicated by Jagan’s close associate YV Subba Reddy. This protest is named “Yuvatha Poru” and this is regarding the fees reimbursement program and it is going to be held on 12th March.
However, there’s an issue here and this has something to do with the formation day of YSR Congress which coincidentally falls on March 12. Generally, the YCP formation day events are held in a very grand manner by YCP regardless of whether the party is in power or not.
But this time around, in view of the harrowing defeat in the 2024 election, the momentum is lost. And on top of that, the party high command, including Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and YV Subba Reddy have communicated that the party leaders and supporters must partake in formation day event and also the Yuvatha Poru that was planned.
The communication is that the formation day event must be held in the morning, followed by the protest event later. This has led to great confusion of the YCP cadres.
The cadre are already puzzled about how to celebrate the formation day while the party is facing existential crisis in the state, and now, they’re instructed to take part in not one but two events, with the other being Yuvatha Poru.
This really is strange and clumsy planning by YCP leadership despite having been a mainstream political party in AP for nearly a decade and half.
