Now that YCP is in the opposition, Jagan Mohan Reddy needs to rebuild and strengthen the party. In this situation, there are talks that former MP Undavalli Arun Kumar may be asked to guide YCP.
Some YCP leaders recently met Undavalli at his house in Rajahmundry, after visiting jailed MP Peddireddy Mithun Reddy. This meeting has created curiosity in political circles.
Undavalli is known as a sharp political thinker and was very close to the late YSR. Since Congress has almost no presence in Andhra Pradesh, Undavalli quit politics, but now YCP leaders feel his advice could be useful to their party. But reports say Undavalli politely refused, saying he is not interested in active politics now.
Even then, a few believe that his suggestions from outside could still help Jagan in planning for the future. The question is whether Jagan is ready to take such advice, as he did not pay much attention to advisors when he was in power.
For now, these are only speculations. But if Undavalli joins as an advisor, it would surely be a big twist in state politics.
