The Telugu Diaspora South East Asia event held in Singapore received a remarkable response from Telugu-speaking people across the region. Attendees came not just from Singapore but also from nearby countries like Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines, showing their strong connection to Andhra Pradesh and the Telugu identity.
Before Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu even arrived at the venue, the main auditorium was already full with Telugu NRIs and their families. Due to the unexpectedly large turnout, several people were guided into an adjoining auditorium to accommodate everyone. The energy remained high throughout the five-hour-long program.
Many Telugu NRIs attended the event along with their spouses, children and friends. After the formal sessions, a massive photo session with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu followed. In a heartwarming gesture, he patiently stood for nearly two and a half hours to take pictures with almost 2,500 attendees. He greeted each one with a smile, spoke to many personally, and listened to their views and concerns.
Minister Nara Lokesh also stayed on stage and helped organize the photo session smoothly, ensuring that every family got a chance to interact with the Chief Minister. Women who attended the event with their children were specially appreciated by Chandrababu for their enthusiasm and efforts to stay connected to Telugu culture even while living abroad.
This event not only strengthened the bond between NRIs and the AP government but also encouraged them to invest in the development of the state through the P4 initiative. The warm atmosphere, enthusiastic participation, and personal engagement made the event a memorable moment for Telugu people living in Southeast Asia.
