The mystery surrounding the death of Andhra Pradesh-based Christian preacher Praveen Pagadala has been officially resolved. On Saturday, Eluru Range IG Ashok Kumar held a press conference where he clarified that Praveen died due to a road accident, not murder.
According to the IG, Praveen was under the influence of alcohol and was riding his bike at high speed when he met with three separate accidents during his journey, one of which proved fatal. He confirmed that the cause of death was purely accidental and ruled out any foul play or suspicion of murder.
IG Ashok Kumar also revealed that several individuals who had made speculative or misleading statements on social media regarding Praveen’s death have been issued notices. He stated firmly that there was no truth to the rumors suggesting Praveen was murdered.
In the detailed briefing held in Rajahmundry, the IG explained the entire sequence of events leading to Praveen’s death. Praveen had reportedly left Hyderabad for Rajahmundry on a bike without informing his family, except for one individual. During his journey, he stopped at two locations and made digital payments at wine shops, suggesting alcohol consumption.
Further investigation showed that Praveen had interacted with six individuals at various stops. These findings were verified through extensive CCTV footage collected along the route. The IG confirmed that they had solid evidence proving Praveen had consumed alcohol during the trip.
The postmortem report also confirmed that his death was due to injuries sustained in a road accident. As part of the investigation, authorities questioned 113 individuals, including Praveen’s family members and locals from the areas he had passed through.
Every piece of CCTV footage along the route was analyzed, and thorough inquiries were conducted in all locations where Praveen had stopped. The IG stated that no one, including his family members, expressed any suspicion regarding his death.
The IG stated clearly that there was not even a single clue suggesting foul play. All evidence points to the fact that Praveen Pagadala died in an unfortunate road accident, and any claims of murder are completely baseless.
