The Indian Air Force (IAF) marked its 93rd anniversary on October 8, 2025, with a special menu reflecting their victory over Pakistan during Operation Sindoor. The celebratory dinner has since gone viral for its witty and bold menu, though not being real.
Each dish was creatively tagged with Pakistani cities and airbases targeted during Operation Sindoor. Over nine terrorist hubs in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir were affected in the IAF precision strikes on May 7, 2025. The operation was launched as a retaliatory measure to the Pahalgam terror attack when 26 Indian tourists were killed in Jammu and Kashmir.
Senior BJP leader and Union minister Kiren Rijiju was among those who shared the image on X. The menu’s playful naming drew attention to the IAF’s precision and the strategic significance of the operation, while no dishes mentioned in the list were ever prepared or served.
The interesting menu included Rawalpindi Chicken Tikka Masala, Rafiqui Rhara Mutton, Bholari Paneer Methi Malai, SUkkur Sham Savera Kofta, Sarghoda Dal Makhani, Jacobabad Mew Pulao, Bahawalpur Naan, and desserts — Balakot Tiramisu, Muzaffarabad Kulfi Faluda, Muridke Meetha Pan. However, the Air Force officers did not taste any of the dishes as they were just showcased only on the paper.
Though fake, the Operation Sindoor menu sparked a wave of memes and admiration online, with several netizens hailing the IAF for “the most creative tribute ever.”
Speaking at the event, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal A P Singh said his force’s “bold and precise” attacks on enemy targets during the operation restored the rightful place of offensive air action in the national consciousness.
