Social media has become an integral part of public life today. In fact, it has reached a point where it can even influence the outcome of elections. The party with the strongest social media presence naturally holds an edge, especially in closely contested elections.
This is precisely why every major political party in India is investing heavily in social media management, particularly on X (formerly Twitter), where narratives are primarily shaped.

In terms of social media following, Janasena is clearly ahead of the other two major parties:
— Janasena: 2.6 million followers
— YSRCP: 9 lakh followers
— TDP: 7 lakh followers
Janasena has nearly three times more followers than YSRCP and almost four times more than TDP on X.
When it comes to individual followings, it’s interesting to note that Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has more followers than both Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy:

— Chandrababu Naidu: 5.3 million followers
— YS Jagan Mohan Reddy: 2.7 million followers
It is evident that Pawan Kalyan and his Janasena Party command the strongest social media presence among AP’s political players. This can largely be credited to Kalyan’s popularity as a film star. The positive takeaway for Janasena is that they effectively used this strong social media base to their advantage in the recent elections.
