Usually, when a party finds a hard-working MLA or MP, they are encouraged and empowered to raise the voice of the people in legislative houses. However, the situation was completely different in the YSR Congress Party, where the party chief Jagan Mohan Reddy tortured and sidelined his own best-performing MP, Raghu Rama Krishna Raju (RRR).
As we all know, Jagan relentlessly targeted RRR simply because the MP questioned his anti-people policies. Things got so extreme that RRR was unable to even set foot in Andhra Pradesh for over four years, as Jagan held a personal grudge against him.
Now, recent developments reveal that RRR was officially recognized as the best-performing MP in India for the term 2019–2024. This ranking was compiled by Politics for Impact, an agency that evaluates Members of Parliament based on attendance, questions raised, and overall integrity.
In fact, RRR topped the list with a 100 percentile score, marking him as the No. 1 MP in the entire country. While he was diligently serving in Parliament with near-perfect attendance and powerful questions, his own party chief was working to suppress him.
Ideally, Jagan could have used an efficient MP like RRR to champion Andhra Pradesh’s interests in the Parliament and bring national attention to the state. Instead, he chose to corner and harass RRR, creating an unfortunate situation for everyone involved.
In the end, after facing years of mistreatment, RRR left YSR Congress, joined the NDA alliance, and contested as an MLA from the Undi constituency, where he won with a strong majority.
