Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh today shared an interesting personal story about the handloom industry in his Mangalagiri constituency. At an event on National Handloom Day, he praised the talent of Mangalagiri weavers and spoke about their importance to the local economy.
Lokesh said that his wife, Brahmani, once wore a Mangalagiri saree, and a photo of her in that saree went viral online. After that, nearly 100 people went to the same shop and bought the same saree. He said this shows how a small moment can help local weavers in a big way.
Lokesh added that his main goal is to improve the income of handloom workers. Even though Brahmani did not plan it, her viral photo ended up promoting Mangalagiri handloom sarees and helped the local community.
He also mentioned that the focus is not just on one viral photo, but on how it helped bring attention to handloom workers. Since becoming MLA of Mangalagiri, Lokesh has been working to support weavers and goldsmiths, and to grow the local economy.
His comments are being seen as a smart step to support local talent while building a stronger connection with the people in his area.
