Tamil Nadu CM M.K. Stalin strongly opposed the push for forced Hindi education, saying the fight that began in Tamil Nadu is now gaining support in other states like Maharashtra.
Stalin praised Maharashtra for reconsidering the three-language policy and welcomed the recent speeches by Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray, who spoke out against making Hindi compulsory.
He accused the BJP of unfairly linking central funds to the requirement of teaching Hindi as a third language. Stalin said the BJP had to step back in Maharashtra after people raised their voices in protest.
He also criticized the central government for showing clear bias towards Hindi and Sanskrit and pointed out that they had no answers to the valid questions raised by Raj Thackeray.
Stalin clarified that Tamil Nadu’s opposition is not based on hatred of Hindi but on the need to protect India’s cultural diversity and regional languages.
Finally, he warned the BJP that if they do not correct their actions and return the funds owed to Tamil Nadu for education, people will deliver a strong political response that the party will not forget.
